Who needs this medical?
This type of medical is required if you perform licenced work with asbestos under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
What is involved in this assessment?
This type of medical can take up to 45 minutes. The detailed medical history is targeted towards previous asbestos exposure. The medical assessment concentrates on the respiratory system and includes full respiratory system examination, spirometry, O₂ saturation, urine dipstick test, as well as measurement of blood pressure, heart rate, etc. If deemed necessary, other investigations can be performed.
What do I need to bring with me?
On the day of your appointment, please have with you a photo ID, like a driving licence or a passport. Your national insurance number and home address will also be required. You also need to know the exact job description and the name of your employer.
