Dr Michael Gonevski is an Approved Doctor for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, an Approved Medical Examiner of Divers (AMED) for the UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE), a medical referee for the UK Diving Medical Committee (UKDMC), medical examiner for the Offshore Energies UK (formerly Oil and Gas UK), and an HSE Approved Doctor for Compressed Air Work and Asbestos.
He provides recreational and commercial diving medicals, medicals for the maritime industry, for the offshore industry, compressed air work and work with asbestos medicals.
After a career in hospital medicine and clinical research, Dr Michael Gonevski’s passion for diving eventually steered him into full-time diving and hyperbaric medicine. He has been working as a senior hyperbaric and diving physician since 2013 and is the medical director of the Midlands Diving Chamber. In this capacity, he has been involved in the treatment of hundreds of cases of Decompression Illness, as well as treatment of various medical conditions with Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT).
He has been a scuba diving instructor for the last 20 years. His underwater adventures have taken him from the warm waters of the Persian Gulf to the cold waters of Canada's Great Lakes. He holds diving qualifications with several diving agencies and is currently a PADI MSDT Instructor.
